E-Learning for Cooperatives Now Available Online
MASS SPECC Cooperative Development Center, a CDA-accredited training provider, launched recently its e-learning program to make available cooperative courses required under Rule 7 of the IRR on the internet. It developed the program after determining in a survey that some 44% of elected and appointed officers of its affiliate cooperatives prefer the online version of the required training. Among the reasons cited for this preference is their work situation, which would require them to take leave of absence from work to attend the training.
CDA holds the 1st National Forum of Training Providers
On April 30, 2013, the CDA conducted the 1st National Forum of Accredited Cooperative Training Providers (ATPs) with the end in view of strengthening the CDA partnership with them as Authority's arm in delivering quality training to cooperatives. There are 220 individual executives, trainers and coordinators of ATPs participated in the Forum.
Accreditation of Cooperative Training Providers started two (2) years ago by virtue of Memorandum Circular 2011-01 approved in February 2011. This Circular was issued based on the provision of Article 44 of Republic Act No. 9520.
Aim High Cooperative Banks : Moving Towards Building One Strong Cooperative Banking Sector
The recent development and trends in the banking industry compels merger, consolidation and acquisition of major shareholders by stronger banks on weaker banks. The cooperative banks are not exempted by these challenges. For quite sometime, the cooperative banks remained adamant and resilient to change to protect its cooperative values, principles, practices and unique features being a bank and at the same time a cooperative.
CDA Board of Administrators Holds Dialogue with Bangkoop Officers
The CDA Board of Administrators holds dialogue with BANGKOOP Officers on April 10, 2013 at CDA Conference Room, Immaculate Concepcion, Aurora Blvd., Quezon City. BANGKOOP is headed by their Chairman Rufino C. Hernandez. CDA officers are in full force with Chairman Emmanuel M. Santiaguel, Administrators Nelon Alindogan, Mercedes D. Castillo and Eulogio T. Castillo supported by Directors Fe D. Caingles, Eleonor T. Hernandez and Nonie I. Hernandez. This is in response to the appeal of BANGKOOP for the deferment of implementation of Article 144 of Republic Act 9520 and Memorandum Circular No. 2012-06 on the Cancellation of Cooperatives as it applies to primary cooperative members of cooperative banks.
